Slokam 10
Sage Garga departs after extensively praising the glory of the Paramathma. Nanda and others are said to display enhanced affection towards the little Paramathma.
Sage Garga’s praise of the child was meant to initiate Nandagopa and others into enhancing their protective instincts towards the Paramathma. Parental affection is guaranteed for all children. Yet the praise from a renowned saint enhances this care, protection and affection multifold.
Parents always like to think of their “own” children as special. When the affirmation of this is received from a saint of Garga’s standing, it is an advance affirmation that all the travails and efforts that a parent has to put into raising their children will bear fruit. It is quite possible that things do not turn out well in a lot of instances, and the parents regret some of the wrong choices that they made, that might have adversely impacted their children.
A reassurance provides additional incentive and motivation to renew the effort to protect and support the child. The reassurance provides vigor, energy and enthusiasm for the effort.
May we ever proceed on the path of Bhakthi with all vigor, enthusiasm, energy and dedication.
