Slokam 1
Yashoda once finds that Sri Krishna suddenly seemed to have become very heavy to carry around. She lays Him down on His bed and continues on with Her house work.
As any mother would, Yashoda’s concern for the well being of the Paramathma occupies her mind completely. She is thinking of the Paramathma all the time.
Like Yashodha, all our meditative efforts are only directed towards the well being and welfare of the Paramathma. The well being and welfare of the Paramathma is also our well being and welfare. There is absolutely no conflict or divisiveness between the two. In fact we have to realize that there is only one, which is the Paramathma.
Yashoda carries the Paramathma is her hands, but He makes Himself too heavy, in order to make Yashoda put Him down. Although Yashoda physically puts Him down, she continues to carry Him in her consciousness.
The events and circumstances of life may sometimes distract us into deviating away from our every day rituals and service to the supreme.
May we never deviate in our endeavor to keep our consciousness fixed on His supreme form. By following the example set by Yashoda.
