Slokam 5
Vasudeva is fascinated by the glowing image of the Paramathma and beholds the beauty and strength with absolute concentration. The physical image of the Paramathma is said to be impossible to behold even for the great sages, rishis and maharishis after many many years of penance.
Undoubtedly, the physical image of the Paramathma is a rare occurrence to behold. Vasudeva is overwhelmed when he realizes that he is looking at the supreme Paramathma. Beholding the form of the Paramathma, he begins to extol the supreme. It is said that the form of the Paramathma attracts the eyes of Vasudeva., like bees to honey.
The Paramthma makes a physical appearance to Vasudeva, who earned it by his unflinching dedication to the supreme cause, along with Devaki. This privilege comes only after immense tyagam and suffering. For the rest of us, in the Kali Yugam, the Paramathma’s form can be invoked in our consciousness. It requires immense concentration and steadiness without distraction.
The intensity of the focus effectively disconnects our consciousness from this world, and moves it instantly to the feet of the Paramathma. This comes only after many many years or even lifetimes of dedicated effort. This process of disconnecting our consciousness from the transient objects of the world is the release that we are all ultimately hoping to attain.
Devaki, Vasudeva, Arjuna, Bali as well as Dhruva had the privilege to be granted direct audience of the Paramathma.
May we set our consciousness on His eternal self to obtain release from mortal existence.
