Slokam 3
It is said in the slokam that the Paramathma, left no room for doubt for his parents, that it is Him that is born as their child. He is said to be born with all His ornaments and His four hands. He is born with His comforting bluish hue, a crown, His armlets and bracelets, and necklaces reflecting the bright light. His four tiny hands hold the conch, the lotus, the mace and the chakra.
This visual of the Paramathma in a miniscule form of His true infinite self is meant to let Vasudeva and Devaki know without any doubt as to who has been born to them.
All the seven children born prior were also Himself. He is the observed, the observer and all the objects of observation. Yet there is a doubt within us that what we are experiencing as ourselves is other than the Paramathma. As long as this doubt remains we will continue to live in the nether world of life and death. The doubt itself will not go away until we are able to get rid of a whole bunch of other characteristics like pursuit of material gain, selfishness etc.
The many avatars of the Paramthma are meant to destroy this doubt.
May we ever be aware of the Paramathma within us and beyond us.
