Slokam7
Durvasa is said in the slokam to scamper from “one world to another” as the chakra chased him. It is safe to assume the scampering of Durvasa is not physical but at the level of consciousness. The chakra induced fear and insecurity in him, that caused him to panic and his mind and consciousness bolt from one world to another.
He approaches Brahma for respite from the Chakra. Brahma’s answer is a clue into the multifaceted powers of the chakra. Brahma tells Durvasa that “none had the power to defy the wheel of time”. The spinning chakra is the wheel of time which induces change in the universe.
Having been told by Brahma that he is helpless, Dhurvasa goes to Shiva Perumal. The slokam clearly says that Shiva Perumal also saluted the Paramathma only.
It is clear that those who try to antagonize or harm the devotees of the Paramathma cannot take refuge with any other god.
Qualifying to be a devotee of the Paramathma requires us to be strict observers of the rules of Dharma. If not we will face the consequences of having to learn the lessons the hard way. The lessons can be quite painful. The Paramathma is very strict in requiring adherence to His guidelines in the Bhagavath Gita.
May we take refuge at the Paramathma with unflinching devotion.
