Slokam 5
On the day of the deluge, the land was submerged by water entirely. Like Satyavrata, there were seven sages that were waiting at the location pinpointed by the Paramathma. Satyavrata is referred to in this slokam as a “sage of a king”.
The seven sages were baffled at the vast expanse of water in all directions, as far as the eye could see. They resolved to be in tapas of the Paramathma and to take shelter in Him to rid themselves of the fear of this vast expanse.
In transcending this world, the journey will be undertaken through a space where all the physical holds that we are used to on earth, disappears. The only hold that we will have is the Paramathma himself. All familiarity with the environment will disappear.
In order to prepare to embark on that journey we have to withdraw all our tentacles of attachment to objects and beings of this world, and learn to fix our consciousness only on the Paramathma.
