Slokam 1
Bali is the descendant of the greatest asura devotee of the Paramathma – Prahalada.
Mahabali (IAST: Mahābalī), also known as Bali, Indrasenan or Māveli, is a daityaKing. There are versions of his legend in ancient texts such as the Shatapatha Brahmana, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranas.[1][2][3] His legend is a part of the annual Balipratipada (fourth day of Diwali) festival in the States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Onam festival in the state of Kerala, India.[1][4]and also in Kerala history, the Mahabali, the grandson of Prahlada who was a great devotee of Vishnu, is considered to be the noblest and prosperity king, who makes Kingdom into the land of heaven in earth, who was given the greatest boon by Vishnu through his Vamana Avatar. Vishnu also gave him the boon that he will become Lord Indra in the next Manvantara. He asked permission to visit the people of his kingdom on the harvest ceremony to see them live in happiness.
Mahabali is described in early Hindu mythologies as a benevolent and generous king, but violent and surrounded by asura associates who abused power. They particularly persecuted the suras and the Brahmins.[5][6][3] Mahabali also temporarily possessed the amrita (nectar for eternal life) obtained by the asuras by trickery.[7] The amrita allowed his associates to bring him back to life after his death in one of the wars between suras and asuras.[8][7] Mahabali was, thus, immune from death. After many wars, the invincible Bali had won the heaven and earth. The suras (Devas) approach Vishnu to save them. Vishnu refused to join the war or kill his own devotee Mahabali. He used a tactical approach instead and incarnated as the dwarf Brahmin avatar, Vamana
Mahabali is said to have been killed by Indira in battle, but subsequently resurrected by Sukra through the effect of Sanjeevini.
Sanjeevani can refer to a plant or to a mantra (a chant) or to a system/method. The description below describes Sanjeevani as a magical herb or plant. There is also a Sanjeevani chant in Hinduism which is believed to be able to bring a dead person back to life. To know more about this, read the story of Kachan and Devayani.
Hanuman retrieves Sanjeevani by taking the entire mountain.
Extract from Wikipedia.
Sanjeevani is a magical herb which has the power to cure serious nervous system problems. It was believed that medicines prepared from this herb could revive in any situations where death is almost certain. The herb is mentioned in the Ramayana when Ravana's son Indrajit (Meghnad) hurls a powerful weapon at Lakshmana. Lakshmana is badly wounded and is nearly killed by Indrajita. Hanuman was called upon to fetch this herb from the mount Dronagiri (Mahodaya) or Gandhamardhan hills, far to the north of the Vindhyas on the slopes of the Himalayas. The mountain of herbs is identified as the Valley of Flowers near Badri in Uttarakhand on the slopes of the Himalayas. It is sometimes called Gandhamardan, and at other times Dronagiri. Upon reaching Dronagiri Parvata or Gandhamardan, Hanuman could not identify the herb and lifted the whole mountain and brought it to the battlefield.[1]

Bali, being a devotee of the Paramathma, performs special sacrifices to enhance his power
Whichever way it was, Bali does acquire immense power and conquers all the three worlds to gain complete ascendancy.
The devas are said to retreat from him in fear. It is also mentioned that as the ruler of the three worlds, power had corrupted bali. The corruption was to such an extents that he was not afraid of even the Paramathma’s discus (sudharshana).
The devas lose the battle with Bali. Indira is put to great suffering.
The asura always believes at some point that heisthebeall/end all of all.
May we ever be aware that we can never allow the asura within us to take control. May we ever be in the meditation of the Paramathma to keep the asura within at bay.
